China imported 868,474.4 tons of alcoholic drinks from January to March 2018, an increase of 198.3 percent year on year. The imports amounted to 1.5 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 60.9 percent year on year. The average price was 1,721.4 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 46.1 percent year on year.
In March alone, China imported 314,291.5 tons of alcoholic drinks, an increase of 17.2 percent month on month. The imports amounted to 514.5 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 52.8 percent month on month. The average price was 1,637.0 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 30.3 percent month on month. Compared with March 2017, there was an increase of 172.1 percent in quantity, an increase of 53.7 percent in value, and a decrease of 43.5 percent in average price.
In terms of import origin by continents, Asia exported 94,594.4 tons of alcoholic drinks from January to March 2018, an increase of 497.6 percent year on year, or 98.9 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 193.0 percent year on year, at an average price of 1,046.0 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 51.0 percent year on year; Africa exported 4,974.8 tons, an increase of 33.7 percent year on year, or 11.2 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 84.3 percent year on year, at an average price of 2,242.1 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 37.9 percent year on year; Europe exported 198,044.2 tons, an increase of 2.1 percent year on year, or 781.3 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 25.4 percent year on year, at an average price of 3,945.1 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 22.8 percent year on year; South America exported 88,181.6 tons, an increase of 85.1 percent year on year, or 155.8 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 60.2 percent year on year, at an average price of 1,766.5 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 13.5 percent year on year; North America exported 429,982.9 tons, an increase of 9,752.9 percent year on year, or 217.8 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 784.1 percent year on year, at an average price of 506.6 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 91.0 percent year on year; Oceania exported 52,696.3 tons, an increase of 106.0 percent year on year, or 229.9 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 59.6 percent year on year, at an average price of 4,363.6 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 22.5 percent year on year.
In March alone, Asia exported 43,297.8 tons of alcoholic drinks, or 40.0 million U.S. dollars, at an average price of 924.7 U.S. dollars per ton; Africa exported 411.0 tons, or 1.7 million U.S. dollars, at an average price of 4,204.8 U.S. dollars per ton; Europe exported 68,114.2 tons, or 247.7 million U.S. dollars, at an average price of 3,636.6 U.S. dollars per ton; South America exported 34,148.7 tons, or 57.9 million U.S. dollars, at an average price of 1,695.1 U.S. dollars per ton; North America exported 146,559.3 tons, or 76.3 million U.S. dollars, at an average price of 520.3 U.S. dollars per ton; Oceania exported 21,760.4 tons, or 90.9 million U.S. dollars, at an average price of 4,176.6 U.S. dollars per ton.
Among all the countries and regions that exported alcoholic drinks to China from January to March 2018, in terms of value, France ranked first with 509.1 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 25.1 percent year on year; Australia ranked second with 224.0 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 63.1 percent year on year; the United States ranked third with 215.1 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 931.1 percent year on year.
In March alone, France ranked first with 154.0 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 9.3 percent year on year; Australia ranked second with 89.3 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 94.0 percent year on year; the United States ranked third with 75.6 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 879.1 percent year on year.
