China exported 7,676.2 tons of black tea from January to March 2018, a decrease of 8.5 percent year on year. The value of China's black tea exports amounted to 49.4 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 18.6 percent year on year. The average price was 6,430.4 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 29.6 percent year on year.
In March alone, China exported 2,578.5 tons of black tea, a decrease of 1.3 percent month on month. The exports amounted to 13.8 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 4.7 percent month on month. The average price was 5,341.4 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 6.1 percent month on month. Compared with March 2017, there was a decrease of 0.5 percent in quantity, an increase of 9.3 percent in value, and an increase of 9.8 percent in average price.
Among all the countries and regions that imported black tea from China from January to March 2018, ranking by value, Hong Kong ranked first with 10.7 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 21.2 percent year on year; Vietnam ranked second with 10.6 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 183.7 percent year on year; the United States ranked third with 7.8 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 6.1 percent year on year.
In March alone, Hong Kong ranked first with value of 4.9 million U.S. dollars in March 2018, an increase of 27.4 percent year on year; the United States ranked second with value of 1.8 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 24.5 percent year on year; Vietnam ranked third with value of 1.7 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 110.4 percent year on year.
