China exported 70,373.9 tons of green tea from January to March 2018, a decrease of 2.3 percent year on year. The value of China's green tea exports amounted to 261.6 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 3.9 percent year on year. The average price was 3,717.4 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 6.3 percent year on year.
In March alone, China exported 20,822.8 tons of green tea, a decrease of 12.6 percent month on month. The exports amounted to 77.6 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 8.3 percent month on month. The average price was 3,728.3 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 4.9 percent month on month. Compared with March 2017, there was a decrease of 28.8 percent in quantity, a decrease of 25.0 percent in value, and an increase of 5.4 percent in average price.
Among all the countries and regions that imported green tea from China from January to March 2018, in terms of value, Morocco ranked first with 62.6 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 4.4 percent year on year; Hong Kong ranked second with 20.7 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 13.7 percent year on year; Senegal ranked third with 15.5 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 43.5 percent year on year.
In March alone, Morocco ranked first with 19.0 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 14.3 percent year on year; Hong Kong ranked second with 6.6 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 21.1 percent year on year; Ghana ranked third with 5.3 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 23.7 percent year on year.
