GUANGZHOU, Nov. 30 (Xinhua)--The idea of creating a community of shared future for mankind accords with the laws of human development, and it will promote world peace and development, according to Helga Zepp-LaRouche, founder of the International Schiller Institute in Germany, who attended the parallel forum themed on Cooperation Dialogue between Chinese and Foreign Media of “The 21st Century Maritime Silk Road” Forum Wednesday.
Helga Zepp-LaRouche said that the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping four years ago has made great achievements, and the concept of creating a community of shared future for mankind focuses on human unity and calls for building an open, inclusive, clean and beautiful world enjoying lasting peace, universal security and common prosperity. This is associated with Confucius and his 2500-year-old tradition in Chinese culture.
Friedrich Schiller, a German poet of freedom, after whom the Schiller Institute is named, has an amazing affinity with Confucius. "He developed the concept of the aesthetical education of man with a special emphasis on poetry and beautiful art. His notion of the “beautiful soul” is very similar to Confucius’ idea of the “junzi””, said Helga Zepp-LaRouche.
The history of mankind shows that the ideal of the highest humanity is shared by the most noble expressions of different cultures. Many of great thinkers with completely different cultural backgrounds, share the same insights on the nature of man and purpose of his existence.
The ancient Silk Road led to an exchange of not only goods and technologies, but also ideas and cultures, so will the new Silk Road lead to a sharing of the best expressions of human creativity for the benefit of the one humanity, and the beautiful vision of one dream of mankind will come true, Helga Zepp-LaRouche added.
