BEIJING, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- China Merchants Bank (CMB), the country's leading private bank, saw its net profits rise 6.8 percent in the first half of the year, according to a statement released Thursday.
The bank's net profits reached 35.2 billion yuan (5.3 billion U.S. dollars) in the first six months of the year, it said in a statement.
Profit growth was slightly faster than the 6.6 percent jump logged in the first quarter.
Net revenues stood at 113.4 billion yuan in the January-June period, up 8.6 percent year on year.
CMB's non-performing loan ratio stood at 1.83 percent by the end of June, up 0.15 percent from the end of last year. Enditem
