BEIJING, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- China Railway Construction Corporation (601186.SH) recently started construction of the upgrading and expansion project of Cabinda airport in Angola.
The project, including the expansion of airfield and terminal, will be built based on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract, of which the value stands at some 185 million U.S. dollars.
Project construction is scheduled for completion in 14 months, upon which the airport would become an important international traffic hub that meets the standards by International Civil Aviation Organization, The International Air Transport Association and the EU in terms of air safety technical specification.
In addition to improving the transportation conditions between Cabinda Province and Angola’s mainland, the project will play an important role in promoting stability and development of the local economy and bring more job opportunities for local people, said Angolan officials.
