BEIJING, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- A pure electric bus manufacturing base co-initiated by Higer Bus Company Limited (Higer) and Kazakhstan scientific research center PARASAT was recently set up in Almaty.
The two sides have jointly developed and manufactured the new type of pure electric bus to cope with worsening air pollution, according to Higer. The new model, to be assembled in Almaty, will meet the demands of public transport in most of Kazakhstani cities, and is expected to serve the 2017 Kazakhstan World Fair.
Higer and PARASAT would further cooperate on developing innovative electric vehicles and charging facilities, and have planned to co-develop the so-called “Smart City” software.
Higer has become the first Chinese bus brand that conducts knocked-down (KD) assembling and manufacturing in the Eurasian Economic Union regions and can sell in all Eurasian Economic Union markets, the company said. Enditem (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
