UNITED NATIONS, March 13 (Xinhua) -- The UN Headquarters in New York will be closed on Tuesday due to snow storm, which is forecast to bring 12-18 inches of heavy snow fall, about 30.48 to 45.72 centimeters, the world body announced here Monday.
"The United Nations Headquarters complex will be closed tomorrow Tuesday, 14 March 2017, due to inclement weather," the United Nations said in a note to the press here.
The New York City Emergency Management Department and the National Weather Service have issued a Blizzard Watch in effect from late Monday night through late Tuesday night.
The snow storm is expected to come along with strong and potentially damaging winds that will create hazardous travel conditions on Tuesday.
The New York City has announced that all public schools will be closed on Tuesday.
