BEIJING, July 5 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP), a Sino-Indonesia joint venture, has recently received three honors at the Nusantara CSR Awards (NCSRA) 2025 for its excellence in community empowerment, education promotion and environmental protection.
Organized by Indonesia's La Tofi School of Social Responsibility, the NCSRA evaluates enterprises' environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance under the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals from multiple dimensions such as environmental protection, education, community, and governance, awarding companies that boost social and environmental development.
With proven initiatives and practical results, the IMIP earned "community recycling empowerment award", "quality education award", and "marine ecosystem award" at a ceremony held on Wednesday.
In terms of community empowerment, the IMIP has launched "village waste banks" program, creating a green governance network integrating waste collection, point-based rewards and environmental education across ten villages.
In education promotion, the industrial park has provided remote communities with access to books, literacy courses and digital skills training through a non-profit book house platform.
Regarding marine conservation, the IMIP has planted mangroves and restored corals under its "underwater ecological nursery" demonstration project.
"These awards represent recognition of our dedication to sustainable development and corporate responsibility. We will take this as an opportunity to strengthen our ESG efforts and contribute to a greener, more sustainable and inclusive future," said Emma, the IMIP's Director of CSR and Environmental Affairs.
