ADDIS ABABA, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- China and Ethiopia signed a cooperation agreement Friday to further deepen experience sharing among the two countries' ruling parties.
The Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) have conducted extensive cooperation in experience sharing and capacity building of cadres, said visiting Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao.
In his talk with Ethiopia's Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen who is also vice chairman of the EPRDF, Li called on the two parties to continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation, and guide the further development of the two countries' relations.
He said that the CPC and the Chinese government will implement the outcome of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit held in December last year in Johannesburg, and contribute to the economic and social development of Ethiopia.
The vice president added that the China-Ethiopia partnership has maintained sound and sustained development with frequent high-level exchanges.
Demeke said his party is ready to sign a memorandum of understanding on experience sharing with the CPC, to deepen exchanges of experience on party and country governance, improve the EPRDF's ability to govern and consolidate its position.
The two leaders also attended a seminar on party building and governance experience sharing. Enditem
