BEIJING, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Sichuan Province will actively build an inland pilot free trade zone and accelerate construction of open cooperative platforms such as China-ROK innovation and pioneer park and China-Germany industrial park in the coming five years, according to the province's thirteenth five-year plan (2016-2020) released Wednesday.
Overall innovation and reform are the primary task of Sichuan in the years to 2020 aiming at improving its innovation-driven capability and core competitiveness of industries, said Tang Limin, head of development and reform department of the province.
Meanwhile, Sichuan will put coordinated urban and rural development on a prominent position and will promote development of regional economic zones.
According to Tang, the province will step up efforts in pushing forward urbanization, which has great development room and is the potential for Sichuan's growth in the future. (Edited by Liu Xiaoyun, liuxy08@xinhua.org)
