NANJING, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) – China Economic Information Service (CEIS), the main market entity of economic information business of Xinhua News Agency, will give a full play of its own advantage to promote green energy application and development in China and around the world, said Kuang Lecheng, vice president of CEIS, at a forum on Saturday in Yangzhong, East China’s Jiangsu Province.
Kuang made the remarks in a speech delivered at the International Green Energy Development Conference, which is jointly held by CEIS and the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, organized by the Yangzhong Municipal Government, the CEIS Xinhua Silk Road Information Department and the CEIS Jiangsu Center, and co-organized by the Renewable Energy Committee of the China Energy Research Society.
“Today, we gather in Yangzhong, to share the concept of green development and green life, display our latest technologies and products in the field of new energy as well as introduce the achievements in building demonstration cities with high proportion of new energy application in order to promote green energy industry development and green energy application in China,” he said.
China’s energy regulator, the National Energy Administration, has named four cities in the country as the demonstration city with high proportion of new energy application. Yangzhong in East China’s Jiangsu Province, is one of them. It saw a year-on-year increase of 39.73 percent in the use of non-fossil energy and 18 percent in the green energy utilization rate in 2016.
The world has reached the consensus to develop green energy. Currently, China’s enterprises in new energy industry are proactively exploring overseas market, and foreign green energy companies are vying to seize a place in the fast developing Chinese market, Kuang added.
Promoting application of new energy in countries along the Belt and Road is a key approach to put in place the Belt and Road Initiative, said Kuang.
CEIS has been paying close attention to green energy development, Kuang introduced.
In addition to providing profession and authoritative energy industry information, CEIS also actively joins in construction of China’s clean energy market, Kuang stated.
In cooperation with three Chinese oil and natural gas giants - CNPC, Sinopec and CNOOC, as well as several other companies in upstream and downstream oil and gas industry, CEIS has established a national petroleum and natural gas trading bourse, Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange (SHPGX), in Shanghai.
Besides, Xinhua Silk Road, a national Belt and Road information and service platform operated by CEIS, provides premium services for domestic energy companies investing in overseas market and foreign energy companies investing in China, according to Kuang.
During this conference, CEIS released the Annual Report on Global Green Energy Application and Development (2016-2017), which analyzes the new trends and challenges in development and application of green energy worldwide. (Contributed by Yang Qi, Edited by Zhang Aifang)
