NANJING, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Yangzhong in East China’s Jiangsu Province has entered a new age of green development, Shi Zhengrong, founder of Suntech and a forerunner of China’s photovoltaic industry, said on Saturday at the International Green Energy Development Conference in Yangzhong, Jiangsu.
As one of China's four model cities with high proportion of new energy application named by the National Energy Administration in 2016, Yangzhong has formed the pillar industries of photovoltaic and electrical appliances integrating research, industries and application, according to Shi.
“The integrated development of talent, research, industries and application will comprehensively advance Yangzhong's innovative industries, and accelerate the green sustainable development of Yangzhong,” said Shi.
Shi added that the signing of the Paris Agreement marked a consensus among humankind on developing the green economy, tackling climate change and building a sustainable future.
The International Green Energy Development Conference was successfully held in Yangzhong, Jiangsu Province, from September 15 to 16, 2017. The conference, themed “Green Energy Development in China and Yangzhong’s Practices”, showcased the latest technologies and products of new energy.
In addition, the conference presented achievements of China’s high-proportion new energy demonstration cities and discussed innovative development of green energy.
The conference was jointly held by CEIS and the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, organized by the Yangzhong Municipal Government, the CEIS Xinhua Silk Road Information Department and the CEIS Jiangsu Center, and co-organized by the Renewable Energy Committee of the China Energy Research Society.
