BEIJING, May 26 (Xinhua) -- In the first four months of this year, the gross output of new energy industry in Yangzhong was recorded at RMB 12.78 billion, with a growth rate of 15.1%, according to data from the local statistics bureau.
The city’s new energy industry also posted aggregate revenue of RMB 12.22 billion, with a growth rate of 14.2%, from January to April.
From 2014 to the end of June in 2017, Yangzhong initiated 177 projects under the ambit of “photovoltaic power generation on the rooftop”, having a total installed capacity of 134.6MW, with 106.59MW capacity connected to the grid.
As many as 1,449 households use distributed grid-connected photovoltaic power generation systems, with 7.24MW capacity connected to the grid, given that the average installed capacity of each household is 5kW.
By 2020, new energy will account for 33% of the total energy consumed in Yangzhong. New energy will account for 100% of the electricity consumption by the residential sector and the services industry, reducing the use of fossil fuel by 320,000 tons per year.
By 2030, new energy will account for 100% of the total energy consumed in the city, thereby achieving the goal of “zero coal consumption”.
In the future, Yangzhong will focus on cultivating a photovoltaic industry cluster, covering Youfang town, along with an economic development zone. In addition, it will form an industry cluster for incubation, growth and expansion of photovoltaic industry.
Yangzhong plans to will construct major infrastructures and supporting facilities in the new energy industry cluster, besides popularizing new energy automobiles and accelerating the construction of a microgrid of new energy. Moreover, it will actualize wind power generation at the beach, develop biomass energy and continue treading the path towards utilizing green energy.
