Yangzhong rolls out favorable policies for renewable energy development

August 02, 2017

Abstract : Yangzhong, one of China’s four high-proportion renewable energy demonstration cities, has rolled out a series of favorable policies to boost the development and application of renewable energy in the city.

BEIJING, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Yangzhong, one of China’s four high-proportion renewable energy demonstration cities, has rolled out a series of favorable policies to boost the development and application of renewable energy in the city.

For residential photovoltaic power generation projects, state subsidies of RMB 0.42 and Yangzhong subsidies of RMB 0.3 will be provided for each kWh of power generated. In addition to self-use, the residual power generated by residential photovoltaic power stations can be sold to the State Grid Corporation of China at the price of RMB 0.378/kWh.

Separately, Zhenjiang Ren De New Energy Science Technology Co., Ltd. bought 12 new energy automobiles at the end of the last year, costing more than RMB 6 million. In addition to state subsidies, the Yangzhong city government shall provide subsidy on a 1:1 ratio, allowing the company to get a total subsidy of over RMB 3 million.

In the meanwhile, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has approved Huantai Group’s Project of Integrating Green Manufacturing Systems for Solar-Powered Polysilicon Sheet in 2016, allowing the company to secure around RMB 12 million of state subsidies.

In 2016, Yangzhong government handed out fiscal subsidies of RMB 2.166 million for photovoltaic power generation projects. In addition, the “photovoltaic poverty alleviation” project encourages photovoltaic power generation enterprises to actively participate in “poverty alleviation by entering rural households” by donating money or equipment. Low-income families meeting installation conditions are regarded as the targets for these subsidies, so that these low-income groups can also share the fruits of developments in clean energy.

Last year, 77 poor families in Yangzhong received the donation (RMB 24,000/household on average) for actualizing an installed power generation capacity of 3 kW/household. Following these measures, each family may obtain a stable annual income of about RMB 3,000.

In addition, a public welfare program, Sunshine Project, was established this year. Yangzhong Charity Federation will give RMB 200,000 for “photovoltaic poverty alleviation” project each year. At present, 15 low-income families meeting corresponding conditions have been selected. In line with residual quotas for each town (sub-district and district), at least 300 poor families will be selected by the end of this year.
