Deep in the Sahara Desert, deep-water wells reaching depths of over 350 meters are drilled every seven days, turning barren land into fertile farmland. After a cross-border power grid was connected, over 30,000 ancient trees in the rainforest stand tall, while lights now shine brightly in the homes of people deep in Southeast Asian mountains. In bitterly cold temperatures of minus 20 degrees Celsius, electric buses still run smoothly on the streets of a Central Asian city. Behind these vivid scenes are solutions tailored by Chinese companies and financial institutions, working hand in hand with overseas partners, to support local green development.
Under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), numerous Chinese technologies, standards, equipment, and development expertise have been transformed into shared development outcomes across countries. These replicable and scalable "Chinese Solutions" have provided valuable experience in actively advancing environmental protection, social development, and risk management.
With the theme of the ESG for a Shared Future: Global Collaboration & Innovation, the Sustainability Solutions Showcase (Season 1) opened at the National Financial Information Center in Beijing on Wednesday. The month-long exhibition features 13 outstanding cases of green development, aiming to provide insights and ideas for countries seeking to address green development challenges, drive industrial transformation and upgrading, and achieve shared prosperity, while also exploring new pathways for Chinese enterprises going global.
