BEIJING, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- After an upgrade of old power lines, Lingdou Village, a traditional hamlet located in Fujian Province, southeast China, gained new impetus to foster the local cultural tourism.
Recently, the village under Zhongfang Town of Luoyuan County in Fuzhou, the provincial capital, removed the past overhead power lines to beautify rural landscape with much tidier power facilities.
Such moves were part of the efforts made by Luoyuan Power Supply Company and the government of Zhongfang Town to better preservation of the renowned local cultural landmark, Zhuanshui Bridge.
As a millennia-old structure, Zhuanshui Bridge, to which a temple-style pavilion anciently built for Chen Jinggu belief and related customs was connected, was the core of the power line upgrading.
Zhongfang Power Supply Station, a local arm of Luoyuan Power Supply Company and the government of Zhongfang Town thus established a special team to make sure that related construction would do no harm to the ancient architectures.
Avoiding components of the stone-made Zhuanshui Bridge, the wood pavilion and roots of old trees, the local grid operator put well-organized new power lines in place, ensuring electricity access of Lingdou Village without explicitly noticeable overland power facilities.
Upon completion of the upgrading, areas surrounding Zhuanshui Bridge are now equipped with more reliable power supply, helpful for the localities to seek better rural cultural tourism development.
