BEIJING, July 25 (Xinhua) -- The third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), which concluded on July 20, delivered substantial outcomes, reported the Xinhua-run China Securities Journal.

As the world's first national-level exhibition dedicated to supply chains, the five-day event connected Chinese and international businesses to boost international supply chain collaboration, injecting fresh momentum into global trade development.

-- Highlighting global participation and innovation

"The CISCE has seen a steady rise in the proportion of overseas exhibitors across its three editions," Li Xingqian, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the event's organizer, addressed a press conference on July 20.

According to Li, overseas exhibitors accounted for 26 percent of the total participants at the inaugural expo and made up 32 percent in the second edition. The figure climbed further to 35 percent this year. Over 65 percent of the exhibitors were Fortune Global 500 companies or industry leaders. Meanwhile, participant geographic diversity expanded from 55 countries and regions at the inaugural expo to 75 in the latest edition.

The latest CISCE gained even stronger popularity. A total of 1,200 companies and institutions from China and abroad attended the event, with the number of online and offline visitors increasing 5 percent year on year to surpass 210,000. This year's expo facilitated 24,000 targeted business match-ups between exhibitors and professional buyers, quadrupling last year's figure.

Innovation took center stage at this year's expo, with an exhibition area for innovation chain being added for the first time to accelerate development of new quality productive forces.

A debut zone dedicated to the global premieres of new products, technologies, and services was also launched for the first time, showcasing breakthrough innovations that drive industrial collaboration. Among the 152 new offerings unveiled, 55 made their inaugural appearance at the debut zone, garnering over 50 million online views.

Exhibitors adopted more interactive and immersive technologies, engaging visitors with virtual factory tours, drinks prepared by intelligent robots, and extended reality glasses-enabled e-commerce shopping, social interaction, cultural tourism and other scenario-based experiences.

-- Boosting collaboration

The CISCE serves as a powerful magnet for stakeholders across industrial chains. This year's expo intensified its focus on helping exhibitors and visitors "connect with friends and partners, find solutions, and discover application scenarios," said Li.

The event pioneered a unique "chain-centric" approach that maps end-to-end industrial collaboration. In each exhibition hall, upstream, midstream and downstream companies clustered in adjacent booths, demonstrating their interdependence and synergy. "Exhibitors have forged partnerships with 42,000 upstream and downstream enterprises," Li noted.

Over 6,000 cooperation agreements were signed and cooperation intents were reached on-site during the expo this year. For example, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office secured 12 cooperation intents on-site, covering such sectors as advanced equipment manufacturing and new energy.

"The CISCE delivered immediate results while generating follow-up opportunities," Li Xingqian highlighted the 2025 expo's dual impact, adding that several foreign business representatives and overseas delegations now conduct field inspections in relevant regions.

Yang Xiaojun, Director of CCPIT's Department of Industry Promotion, outlined next steps. "The CCPIT will deepen integration and mutual reinforcement among innovation, industrial, capital, and talent chains, transforming innovation into a catalyst for enterprise growth."

-- Stablizing global industrial and supply chains

As a latest platform for China's high-level opening-up, the CISCE demonstrates the country's firm commitment to upholding multilateral trading system and ensuring the stable and smooth flow of global industrial and supply chains together with the world, said Li Xingqian.

"China remains a critical anchor in global industrial and supply chains," Li emphasized, noting the country's transformation toward green, digital, and intelligent industries and strong supporting capabilities. "China boasts the best application scenarios for a new round of technological and industrial revolution, and the CISCE showcases China's comprehensive supply chain system and strong production and creative capabilities."

Li affirmed that "for foreign-funded enterprises, investing in China is the right choice to invest in the future". During this year's expo, ExxonMobil kicked off production at its ethylene project in Huizhou, south China's Guangdong Province. Starbucks formed a strategic alliance with China's Envision Group, and McDonald's convened its global supplier conference, unveiling a regenerative agriculture initiative with nine Chinese suppliers.

Participation continues to grow, with early registrations for the fourth CISCE up 50 percent year on year, according to Li. On July 20 alone, 102 domestic and overseas enterprises and institutions including Honeywell, GE HealthCare, Siemens, and Corning Incorporated signed letters of intent to exhibit at the fourth CISCE.
