BEIJING, May 28(Xinhua) -- Xinfu Mountain Scenic Area in Xintai City, east China's Shandong Province, running a 4-kilometer mountain roller coaster, has seen a 70 percent year-on-year increase of the number of visitors during this year's May Day holiday, becoming a new engine for the local cultural tourism industry.
In order to guarantee the smooth operation of the roller coaster, the State Grid Xintai Power Supply Company has provided an exclusive power solution with precise power supply and coordinated service system, contributing to the low-carbon development of the cultural tourism sector in the county.
To be specific, State Grid Xintai branch has integrated the power grid with the electricity usage scenarios of the Xinfu Mountain Scenic Area, building a precision-oriented power guarantee model. By leveraging a provincial-level intelligent monitoring platform, the company carries out real-time monitoring of key facilities in the scenic area and provides early warnings of potential risks. Upon receiving alerts, State Grid staff will conduct targeted inspections. Since the beginning of 2025, a total of 16 equipment hazards have been identified and eliminated.
Meanwhile, in response to the challenges of the mountainous terrain, the company has laid down 11 kilometers of insulated, lightning-resistant power lines along the slopes, and installed equipment for moisture resistance and wildfire prevention. In addition, an AI-powered smart early warning system has been put in place to detect potential hazards such as wildfires and foreign objects and send warnings in real time, further enhancing the safety of power transmission infrastructure within the scenic area.
Power services have been embedded into the local cultural tourism industry chain via a cross-departmental coordination mechanism, creating an ecosystem that covers basic power supply, optimized service, and industrial upgrading.
In partnership with the local bureau of culture and tourism, and the scenic area management committee, State Grid Xintai branch has set up a support team that offers services such as electricity inspections for businesses within the scenic area and keeping electricity consumption records.
Besides, in Quangou Town, where the scenic area is located, the local power provider has assisted in building 11 charging stations, serving total charging demand of 100,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity in 2024, which is equivalent to reduce carbon emissions by 84.19 metric tons. The local power provider has also conducted emergency drills jointly with the scenic area to enhance emergency response capabilities and ensure stable electricity supply during peak hours in holiday.
