PARIS, March 12 (Xinhua) -- 2025 is a very important year for Airbus' business in China, as the company plans to put into use its second final assembly line in Tianjin, north China, which means 20 percent of Airbus' global production capacity will be deployed in China, said Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury at Airbus' annual press conference on its 2024 results held at its headquarters in Toulouse, France recently.
Faury said that by 2026, Airbus will have ten A320 family final assembly lines around the world, and two of them are in China, accounting for 20 percent of the company's global production capacity.
Faury also praised the export capabilities of Airbus' plant in Tianjin, saying "We have exported a fourth of what we produced in Tianjin last year outside of China. That is part of our global system, and we are very happy with what we do in China. The teams are doing a great job over there."
The customers taking deliverables from Tianjin are very happy with what they have got, including the quality and the reliability, so Airbus will continue to move forward in China in the same way, noted Faury, adding that the company is also working on helicopters.
He also mentioned that Airbus has a very clear roadmap in China, mainly relying on single-aisle aircraft, wide-body aircraft, related services, and some R&T and R&D activities, etc.
