BEIJING, Feb. 20(Xinhua) -- The State Grid Corporation of China has resumed the construction of a batch of power transmission projects after the Spring Festival. One of the projects, the 220 kV Baizhong transmission lines project in Minqing County in Fuzhou City, southeast China's Fujian Province, has officially resumed construction, with workers in safety helmets hustling back and forth, featuring a busy scene.
With a total of 71 newly-built tower bases, the Baizhong project, spanning 29.5 km, is expected to provide a stable power supply to the surrounding areas, supporting the local economy and people's wellbeing.
One of the biggest highlights of the resumption is the extensive application of intelligent traction technology. With digital traction equipment and a central control unit, the traction equipment can be managed remotely, and with a real-time camera, actions can be taken quickly in the event of an emergency. The technology can reduce the manpower required for central control and monitoring by more than half, while maintaining efficiency.
It is expected that the project construction will be completed by the end of March.
