BEIJING, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- The final of Yifeng Light Art Open Competition was held in Yifeng County of east China's Jiangxi Province from December 27 to 29, 2024.
The event, centered around the four core themes of "technology, green development, culture, and consumption," leveraged the Chongwen Pagoda as a cultural landmark and invited global artists to create stunning light art works. During the competition, 81 works from 16 countries around the world were showcased, attracting a large number of art enthusiasts and visitors.
A total of 70 teams submitted works for the competition, with 54 from China and 27 from overseas. Entries came from 8 countries, including China, Malaysia, France, Indonesia, India, Mexico, Bulgaria, and Hungary. A total of 23 works made it to the final.
On the final night, the selected pieces dazzled the audience with their clever use of light and shadow, creating mesmerizing, mysterious, and breathtaking visual effects. In the end, the competition awarded 1 Gold, 2 Silver, 3 Bronze, and 17 Honorable Mentions.
During the event, art lovers also visited local attractions, including the Dongshan Scenic Area, Pingxi Village, and Tianbao Ancient Village, to explore the future development of digital art and discuss how modern technology can drive the innovation of traditional culture and enhance cultural landmarks.
The event not only provided a visual feast for visitors but also injected new momentum into the local night economy. The night market, filled with vibrant street vendors and food stalls, was bustling with people. Visitors explored the diverse food offerings, shopped for unique local goods, and experienced the rich cultural atmosphere, making it a new highlight of the night economy.
In recent years, Yifeng County has leveraged its rich cultural and tourism resources to continually innovate its cultural tourism products and services. In 2024, the county saw a 23.56 percent year-on-year increase in tourist visits, and tourism revenue rose by 19.16 percent year on year, significantly boosting the cultural tourism market and local economic development.
