BEIJING, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Free Trade Zone was established in 2015 in east China's Fujian Province, with the goal of building a higher-level free trade zone and further exploring opening-up. The State Grid Xiamen Electric Power Supply Company has set up a dedicated power supply service center for projects in the free trade zone.
Following the establishment of the Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Free Trade Zone, State Grid Xiamen staff in the center utilized the municipal service platform to know about the scale of the projects and electricity consumption of enterprises, so as to develop tailored power solutions. Meanwhile, the company launched an electricity application service, simplifying the process of getting electricity access.
In recent years, the Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Free Trade Zone has pioneered a comprehensive electricity leasing service for projects. The implementation of these power supply measures has significantly benefited businesses. Since its establishment over nine years ago, the number of new enterprises in the Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Free Trade Zone has increased sixfold, with a 13.9 percent annual growth rate of the total output value.
Furthermore, State Grid Xiamen has set up a power business environment research center, conducting forward-looking studies on the business environment. In total, 34 of the proposed measures have been included in the to-do list at the city level, and these innovative initiatives have been successfully implemented to support high-quality business development through government-enterprise collaboration.
In addition, in the Xiamen Haicang Xinyang industrial zone, the new energy membrane project of Sinolong New Material is under construction, with the 220 kV Lindai substation and transmission project scheduled to be operational by June 2025. This model shortens the construction period by nearly six months compared to conventional methods, according to Cai Yuwei, deputy director of the project center at State Grid Xiamen branch.
The speed of grid construction continues to break new records, and the reliability of power supply is also steadily improving. Through its highly reliable urban distribution network, Xiamen's power grid is providing strong support for industrial development in the city.
