BEIJING, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Zikawei Library, located at the heart of the Xujiahui Origin, a tourist attraction in east China's Shanghai, is the new branch of the Xuhui District Library.
Since its opening in January 2023, it has received 4,318,843 visitors and hosted over 1,000 events for readers by November 2024, engaging nearly 15 million people online and offline.
This video, themed on the idea of home, takes you on a tour through the perspective of the library director. Drawing inspiration from Xu Guangqi's idea of blending Eastern and Western cultures, the Zikawei Library integrates cultural heritage, architectural beauty, and modern technology, playing a vital role in community building.
As a community-oriented library, it offers a space for relaxation and comfort, meeting diverse needs of the community. Moreover, its inclusive cultural events have strengthened community bonds, fostering a sense of belonging for both newcomers and longtime residents.
The Zikawei Library is not only a beacon of culture for the city, but also a timeless home for all citizens.
