BEIJING, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- The service team of State Grid Hunan Electric Power on Monday monitored operation of electrical equipment at Helong stadium in Changsha, capital city of central China's Hunan Province as it is one of the venues for the country's first national youth games for football, basketball and volleyball by conducting infrared temperature measurement so as to ensure safe and reliable power supply for the event.
This sports event, organized by the General Administration of Sport and the Ministry of Education and hosted by the People's Government of Hunan, is being held in Changsha and Yueyang from November 20 to 28. It is the highest-standard and most influential national sports event hosted by Hunan in nearly 20 years.
To supply reliable power for this national event, State Grid Hunan Electric Power has established a dedicated team in advance to safeguard power supply, detailed guarantee measures, and made preparations for safe production, high-quality service, and emergency response.
At the same time, it has compiled an optimized plan for the operation of power supply lines. According to the plan, the main power supply lines for relevant venues, hotels, and hospitals have all been adjusted to a minimal operational mode to make sure that the power grid maintains safe and stable operation.
The company has also developed emergency response plans, each specific for the 38 power supply sites including the Helong stadium. Every member of the power supply team is required to be familiar with how to deal with potential emergencies such as electricity line damage caused by severe weather and sudden equipment malfunctions, so that they can restore power during critical moments.
In response to main power source failures, generator vehicles have been arranged to position at the venues. These vehicles have been tested and maintained in advance, standing ready to be deployed promptly when needed.
During the sports event, 342 repair personnel, 87 repair vehicles, and 21 generator vehicles from State Grid Hunan Electric Power are on standby around the clock to ensure stable, reliable, and high-quality electricity for the national sports event.
