BEIJING, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- A workshop for media officials and journalists from Latin America, organized by China Broadcasting International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co., Ltd., has recently visited Wuyi County, Jinhua City of east China's Zhejiang Province.
Over 30 media representatives from Cuba, Uruguay, Panama, Honduras, and other Latin American countries experienced Wuyi's natural scenery and historical culture while touring its characteristic industries, including hot spring health care, smart manufacturing, and leisure products.
As a key area for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) production, Wuyi is home to rare medicinal herbs such as ganoderma and dendrobium. The media group firstly visited Longevity Valley Botanical Co., Ltd., a pharmaceutical company based in Wuyi, to learn about the history of TCM and modern processing techniques.
According to a journalist from Panama's Bayano Digital, the media group has seen the profound cultural heritage and technological innovation behind China's TCM industry.

The media group then toured the Wuyi Intelligent Manufacturing Institute of industrial Technology, experiencing the application of modern technology in manufacturing. Jointly established by Shanghai Polytechnic University and the local government of Wuyi, the institute promotes collaboration between academia and industry, showcasing strong innovation capabilities.
The institute not only leads in technology, but also emphasizes collaboration with local industries, demonstrating impressive results in the exchange between university research teams and businesses, said an official from Ecuador's Council for the Regulation, Development, and Promotion of Information and Communication.
