BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- The 2024 China Silicon Industry Conference was held in Baotou, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on September 12.
Representatives of silicon industry production and application enterprises, industrial chain supporting enterprises, and scientific research institutes from all over the country gathered together to interpret the macro situation and policy guidance of the industry, discuss market prospects and technical trends, and jointly promote the healthy development of the industry.
According to Wang Jinbao, director general of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia has stepped up efforts to build itself into a national base of energy and strategic resources in recent years, with a focus on the green silicon industry.
Zhu Gongshan, chairman of the Global Green Energy Industry Council and chairman of GCL Group, said that up to now, the silicon industry, which covers R&D, production, application and other major links, begins to take shape in Baotou.
After being awarded the title of World Green Silicon City by the Global Green Energy Council in May 2023, Baotou has taken actions to boost the crystalline silicon PV industry, so as to improve and upgrade its industrial structure.
In the future, Baotou will build a higher level of the World Green Silicon City by strengthening industry chains, supporting green electricity and providing larger market for the crystalline silicon photovoltaic enterprises.
