BEIJING, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Electricians of State Grid Yangzhou Power Supply Company have recently carried out a detailed inspection of the power transmission lines in an attempt to ensure reliable power supply during the peak period of electricity consumption in this summer in Yangzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province.
The ±1000 kV transmission lines, which connect the two 1000 kV ultra-high voltage substations in Huai'an, Jiangsu Province and Taizhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, are important transmission channels for Jiangsu Province to receive electricity from outside the province.
It is learned that the lines could transmit electricity up to 59.6 percent of the maximum load of electricity consumption in Yangzhou City.
During the peak season in summer, State Grid Yangzhou Power Supply Company has further beefed up efforts to strengthen periodic inspection work and enhance the inspection frequency of important power transmission lines to timely detect and eliminate various types of equipment defects.
Besides, the company also embraces the use of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology for a comprehensive and efficient monitoring of transmission lines and their surrounding environments to ensure stable electricity supply in this summer.
