BEIJING, July 29 (Xinhua) -- China's trade in goods and services, in terms of international balance of payments, reached 3.9961 trillion yuan in June, a year-on-year increase of 2 percent, with a surplus of 289.6 billion yuan, reaching a new monthly high of the year, according to data released by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) on July 26.
China's surplus of trade in goods came at 405.2 billion yuan, with 1.9304 trillion yuan of export and 1.5252 trillion yuan of import. The deficit of trade in services stood at 115.5 billion yuan, with 212.5 billion yuan of export and 328 billion yuan of import, according to the SAFE.
Transport service sector was the biggest contributor to services trade, with its trade value totaling 158.6 billion yuan, followed by tourism services, other commercial services as well as telecommunications, computer, and information service.
In June 2024, China's exports and imports of goods and services amounted to 301.1 billion U.S. dollars and 260.4 billion U.S. dollars, respectively, recording a surplus of 40.7 billion U.S. dollars. (Edited by Yang Linlin with Xinhua Silk Road, linlinyanglyn@163.com)
