AI-led digital consumption and service show catches much attention at ongoing 4th CICPE

Abstract : At the ongoing fourth China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) in Haikou, capital of south China's Hainan Province, a special exhibition hall for digital consumption and professional services, in which artificial intelligence (AI)-related technologies and products lead the trend, has caught much attention with many cutting-edge technology products on display.

BEIJING, April 18 (Xinhua) -- At the ongoing fourth China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) in Haikou, capital of south China's Hainan Province, a special exhibition hall for digital consumption and professional services, in which artificial intelligence (AI)-related technologies and products lead the trend, has caught much attention with many cutting-edge technology products on display.

From smart home to "well-being chairs", tech companies are targeting customers' personalized needs, applying latest innovations in upgrading user experience.

A lot of products are unveiled for the first time, using the CICPE as an international platform to reach and serve global customers, observers said.

-- "New", "unique", and "special" products

With products such as smartphones and cars already well-known to the public, Chinese telecom company Huawei presents an experience of "Home of the Future" fueled by innovation.

Designed as a movable cabin, the "Home of the Future" integrates a variety of smart home devices, allowing customers to experience smart home scenarios such as personalized light shows, changeable spaces, movie-watching, and karaoke.

Huawei also showcases its "HiCar (Huawei intelligent car)" which can connect with home devices such as robot vacuum cleaner, smart air conditioner, air purifier, humidifier and light switch.

Some products that try to impress visitors in the form of good-looking, facinating functions, and fun are also on display.

Shokz, a professional sports earphone brand, presents new OpenFit Air boasting both comfortable and functional user experience to meet the growing demand of people who listen to music while exercising.

OpenFit Air uses an ear-hook cavity design which is stable and comfortable to wear, introduced Liu Yating, brand marketing director of Shokz China, adding that the ear-hooking rather than in-ear design also prevents stuffy feeling. Music quality is further enhanced with Shokz's customized high-amplitude and high-sensitivity driver module coupling with dynamic low-frequency enhancement, Liu noted.

In recent years, Chinese companies have made huge investments in technological innovation with clear vision for the future, according to Zhou Jun, chief marketing officer of KPMG China. Meanwhile, the capital market also supports tech companies in making visionary investments, Zhou noted.

In addition to domestic firms, many overseas companies also came to showcase their new products. Philips unveiled the Philips Sonicare Diamond 3 electric toothbrush. Through international platform such as the CICPE, Philips can deliver its latest research and development achievements to consumers and inject new momentum to the consumer market, said Cheng Ning, senior vice president and general manager of personal health division of Philips Greater China.

-- New AI experience

The rapidly developing AI technology is influencing the whole process of product evolution right from prototype, greatly improving quality and personalized features while advancing technology upgrades and industry development.

iFLYTEK, for example, presents its smart hardware products based on AI large models to the CICPE this year. At the booth of iFLYTEK, visitors can see products built on iFLYTEK large cognitive model such as Smart Recorder, Smart Translator, and Smart VoiceBook.

iFLYTEK plans to benchmark world-class capabilities of general models and apply large models in many key technological innovations this year, according to Zhan Wenyu, vice president of iFLYTEK consumer business division.

Turning to the OSIM booth, visitors are attracted by a series of well-being chairs. The uLove3 well-being chair features AI pressure monitoring. Through biometric sensors, it can detect the heart rate, respiratory rate, and heart rate variability in approximately 30 seconds, then calculate the body tension index through AI biometrics algorithm, according to Zhou Manni, assistant marketing manager of OSIM.

Enterprises are increasingly important in promoting high-quality development and technological innovation. Technological innovations, such as intelligent manufacturing, the Internet of Things, and AI blaze new trail for enterprises' digital transformation while providing customers with better experiences through more digitalized and intelligent consumption scenarios, industry observers noted.
