BEIJING, April 9 -- (Xinhua) China Railway Signal & Communication Corporation Limited (CRSC) and Winning Consortium Simandou (WCS) signed an EPC contract on the motor, power battery and electronic control system (EIC system) of Guinea’s Morebaya-Simandou Railway project on April 1, with a contract worth 1.245 billion yuan, reported Shanghai Securities News.
The Morebaya-Simandou Railway starts from the Maribaya Port in Guinea and ends at Simandou Mining Area, with a total length of 552.5km. It is the first double-track heavy-haul modern railway in Guinea and the first trunk railway line based on satellite positioning in Africa.Meanwhile, it is also the largest overseas EPC project on the EIC system launched by CRSC in recent years.
The project marksa new milestone of China's railway on its journey to go global.
