BEIJING, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- East China's Jiangsu Province handled 218 China-Europe freight trains in January this year, up 6.9 percent year on year, according to Jiangsu International Rail Freight Express Co., Ltd.
The freight trains transported 17,604 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) containers of goods during the period.
Meanwhile, the China-Europe freight train services in the province have been operated smoothly during the eight-day Spring Festival holiday that ended on February 17.
In the first seven days of the holiday, the province operated 74 freight trains loaded with 6,020 TEU containers of goods, increasing by 48 percent compared to the same period last year.
