Beat Schneider is Professor Emeritus at the Bern University of the Arts in Switzerland, an expert on China studies and a writer. Not long ago, Schneider visited Xinjiang with a Swiss group. During this trip, he witnessed Xinjiang's social stability, steady economic development, freedom of religious belief and the continuous improvement of people's livelihoods.
