PRAGUE, June 12 (Xinhua) -- A China Day event was launched on Sunday at the 15th edition of Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space in the Czech capital.
Themed Between, the China Exhibition consists of three parts: 12 Chinese performance design cases and their QR Code videos, operable image devices corresponding to these cases, and the act of audience participation.
After touring the China Exhibition, Chinese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Feng Biao said that Chinese stage designers have showcased the latest achievements in Chinese theater and stage design at the Prague Quadrennial and illustrated the rich connotations of the Chinese culture.
Both China and the Czech Republic have abundant cultural resources and profound cultural heritage, Feng said, hoping that artists from both countries can strengthen communication and exchanges.
Also on Sunday, two Chinese artists showcased their sonic works at the Sound Kitchen, which offers a platform for sound designers, artists and composers from around the world to show their sonic works at the Prague Quadrennial.
Held once every four years since 1967, the Prague Quadrennial, also known as the "Olympics for stage design," is the world's largest event focused on performance design and scenography in all forms.
The 2023 Prague Quadrennial takes place from June 8 to 18. This year's main exhibitions, located in the Holesovice Market, an industrial site in northern Prague, have about 100 installations created by teams from 59 countries and regions.
