BEIJING, March 16 (Xinhua) -- China's leading electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has recently struck a deal to provide 5000 electric vehicles (EVs) for customers in the United Kingdom(UK) over the following three years, reported the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News.
The deal was made with Octopus Electric Vehicles, a subsidiary of Octopus Energy Group, which is one of Europe's largest renewable energy investors based in the UK.
Under the deal, the initial order will include the BYD ATTO 3, an all-electric C-segment SUV that debuted in the UK this month.
Michael Shu, general manager and managing director of BYD Europe and International Cooperation Division, said that BYD is set to bring its latest products and leading technologies to customers in the UK, and meanwhile, the company will further strength its cooperation with local partners in an attempt to promote green urban mobility and advance sustainable development.(Edited by Yang Yifan with Xinhua Silk Road, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
