BEIJING, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- A freight train left southwest China's Chongqing Municipality for Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) recently, marking the launch of a new international freight service by Chinese courier service provider uda International Express, reported Shanghai Securities News on Tuesday.
The freight train, loading 86 TEUs of agrochemical products, is expected to arrive in HCMC within eight days after a journey of over 2,000 km.
It is the third international freight train route launched by the company after another two routes started from Zhengzhou, capital of central China's Henan Province, and Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, to the destination of HCMC.
The service was jointly launched by uda International Express and the New Land-Sea Corridor Operation Chongqing Co., Ltd.
It is expected that more local products will be exported through the service, which helps to reduce the cost of logistics for companies going global.
uda International Express, an affiliate of Yunda Holding Co., Ltd, is also working on a transit warehouse in Chongqing. Once completed, the transit warehouse could provide services of temporary storage, custom check and packaging.
