MILAN, Aug 2 (Class Editori) — Sigep China’s first edition —the international exhibition focused on ice-cream industry, confectionery, breadmaking and coffee, organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) partnered with Koelnmesse— will be held from May 10 to May 12, 2023, at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center.
The partnership for Sigep China was announced at the 43rd edition’s inauguration and it represents the debut on the Chinese market: the first edition will pave the way for a strategic program involving South China’s market.
The choice for the Chinese debut fell on Shenzhen because, as the center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, the city is the reference point for South China’s entire market. This is another reason why the event wants to become one of the most important B2B exhibitions in terms of ice-cream industry, confectionery, breadmaking, chocolate and coffee in the region.
Among this year's novelties there will be the staging of the Gelato World Cup (GWC). The GWC, a biennial event, will make its debut at Sigep China 2023 for the selection of the team from the Chinese region that will be invited to participate in the GWC 2024 final scheduled in Italy.
"We are convinced that China represents a key market for our exhibitors and that it is ready to discover the excellence of Made in Italy, such as ice cream, pastry and all those products that we present every year at our Sigep show in Rimini, Italy," Corrado Peraboni, CEO of IEG, stated. The event has been held in Rimini every year for more than 40 years and sees the participation of more than 1,200 companies from 38 countries around the world.
Sigep China 2023 will be held in conjunction with ANUFOOD China and will present, on an exhibition area of more than 40,000 square meters, a complete overview of the food&beverage sectors, with the aim to offer the high-profile industry of southern China a professional business platform. For industry professionals, Sigep’s first Chinese edition will represent a truly unique event.
"We are proud to present Sigep China, a platform dedicated to promoting the meeting between industry companies and the high-profile business network, as well as to further developing opportunities in the fields of distribution, retail and hospitality throughout China," Gerald Böse, President and CEO of Koelnmesse, stated. "The official launch of Sigep China and the synergistic effect of taking place in conjunction with ANUFOOD China will complement the entire food&beverage supply chain and will make both events reach a new level".
