BEIJING, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- The 52nd Zhangshu National TCM Materials and Pharmaceuticals Trade Fair is scheduled to be held in Zhangshu City in east China's Jiangxi Province from October 16 to 18, according to a press conference for the fair held on September 30.
The fair, which was themed innovation, inheritance and development, will organize a series of activities including exhibitions, forums, cultural festivals and ceremonies and launch online platforms and exhibitions.
This year, the fair is expected to attract more than 600 exhibitors and invite industry experts and scholars to talk about the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) materials resources and industry development to boost notable development of TCM materials and pharmaceuticals industry in Zhangshu.
Chen Yu, mayor of Zhangshu City said that the city has re-integrated online transaction and exhibition platforms so as to provide convenient services such as news service and registration services for attendees and exhibitors for the fair.
By attaching more importance to the concept of a digital fair, an online exhibition named Jiangxi medicines and medical care industry walking into Georgia will be convened to further promote the local medical and medical care industry of Jiangxi to go global, noted Chen.
Known as the capital of Chinese medicines, Zhangshu has been playing an increasingly important role in accelerating development of traditional Chinese medicines and pharmaceuticals.
The city, also a new type of industrialized traditional Chinese medicines and pharmaceuticals industry demonstration base and one of the five 5-star industrial clusters of Jiangxi Province, pocketed over 100 billion yuan of revenues from local Chinese medicines and pharmaceuticals industry in 2020.
Year to date, the city has 406 pharmaceutical enterprises, with those which make more than 20 million revenue from main business annually reaching 89 ones and realizing 18.31 billion yuan of output value.
In Zhangshu, an industrial development pattern that integrates production, processing, sales, and scientific research has been in shape, with development of medicine plantation places, enterprises, markets and exhibitions in full swing.
In the future, Zhangshu vowed to craft three bases and one center, namely the TCM industry cluster base, the TCM cultural and tourism integration base, the TCM diagnosis and treatment base, and the TCM inheritance innovation center, in a bid to continuously improve the innovation capability of its TCM industry and strive to build itself as a city characterized by TCM development.
