InfoQuest (September 28, 2021) -- Mr. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, Minister of Finance of Thailand, delivered a speech at Sustainable Thailand 2021, and stressed the efforts made by the government to help enterprises, workers and other groups tide over the difficulties of the pandemic. He believed Thailand's economy would grow by 1.3 percent this year, and next year, and maintain at 4-5 percent next year.
The Thai government is formulating the Outline of the 13th National Economic and Social Development Plan to promote stable, healthy and sustainable economic development.
"The government has introduced relevant measures and organized economic activities to increase the income of enterprises and individuals, and accelerated the COVID-19 vaccination to drive economic recovery and sustainable development," said Arkhom.
Cooperation between the government and private enterprises plays a key role in Thailand's long-term economic growth and should follow the following six guidelines:
1. Adjust the structure of economic development and promote sustainable economic development.
2. Enhance economic transformation and upgrading, develop 12 target industries, and encourage investors to invest in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
3. Facilitatethe development of the digital economy and achieve digital transformation.
4. Build a digital society.
5. Get rid of poverty and narrow the gap between rich and poor. 6. Make better use of the capital market and money market, optimize resource allocation, develop Green Finance, and promote the sustainable development of the Thai economy.
