SHANGHAI, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- On Thursday, Dada Nexus Limited, a Nasdaq-listed on-demand delivery and retail platform based in Shanghai said its affiliated company Dada Now has started providing unmanned delivery services for Sam's Club, a Walmart-owned membership warehouse club.
Dada Now and JD. Logistics Inc., the delivery arm of e-commerce giant JD.com, customized unmanned delivery vehicles for Sam's Club. So far, two such vehicles have been deployed at the warehouse of Sam's Club at the Disheng South Street in Daxing District in southern Beijing, providing services for the surrounding area covering 3 to 5 square km.
When the vehicles bring products to office building blocks and residential communities, the Dada deliverymen are responsible for the final delivery inside buildings to the clients' doorstep.
According to Sam's Club, the e-commerce business of the high-end membership retailing brand is growing rapidly, and the cooperation with Dada Now is expected to improve the delivery efficiency. Enditem
