BEIJING, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Main-site events for the "China Tourism Day 2021" kicked off Wednesday in central China's city of Wuhan under the theme of "green development, better life".
Green development is an efficient, harmonious, and sustainable way of economic growth and social development, said Du Jiang, vice minister of Culture and Tourism, in the opening remarks, noting that pursuing green development is to seek harmonious human-nature relations, allowing tourists to explore nature, comprehend the culture, and nurture minds in such journeys.
The day also saw recreation vehicle (RV) tours, rural tours, among other activities, carried out across Hubei Province.
"China Tourism Day" was initiated in 2011 to present China's achievements in tourism development, promote industry development, and spread the happiness of travelling.
