KUALA LUMPUR, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's King Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah said Thursday that he expects the bilateral relations between Malaysia and China to achieve a new height for the mutual benefit of the people of the two countries.
Sultan Abdullah made the remarks when he received the credentials presented by the new Chinese ambassador to Malaysia, Ouyang Yujing, at the national palace here.
Noting the traditional friendship between the people of Malaysia and China, Sultan Abdullah said the two countries enjoyed deep mutual political trust, with respective interests closely intertwined, while people from both countries are close to and understand each other.
Sultan Abdullah expressed his hope that the relations between Malaysia and China could achieve a new height during Ouyang's tenure as ambassador for the mutual benefit of the two peoples.
For his part, Ouyang said China and Malaysia have long enjoyed friendly relations. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, China and Malaysia have stood shoulder to shoulder against the difficulties, showing the brotherhood between the two countries, said the ambassador.
Amid the continuing progress of economic globalization and society informatization, the future of China and Malaysia are increasingly closely linked, bringing new opportunities of development for bilateral relations and all-around cooperation, said Ouyang.
The ambassador said he will do his utmost to further enrich the China-Malaysia comprehensive strategic partnership and to strengthen and deepen the traditional friendship between to two peoples. Enditem
