LANZHOU, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- A batch of some 110,000 rainbow trout eggs produced by a fishery institute in northwest China's Gansu Province has been exported to Nepal, according to the customs authority in the province.
The export of rainbow trout eggs, the first time for the province, will be used for breeding research of the trout in Nepal, according to the Gansu Fishery Institute, which produced the eggs.
Gansu, one of China's major cold-water fish bases of salmon and trout with a long history, has an annual output of 3,000 tonnes.
"The export of the rainbow trout eggs marks the province's advanced breeding and reproducing technologies going abroad," said Zhang Yanping, director of the institute. Enditem
