InfoQuest (January 6, 2021) - The second outbreak of COVID-19 has impacted the prices of Thailand's agricultural products in January 2021; some products may see a higher price,whereas others do not, according to the Research and Innovation Development Center of Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC).
BAAC Senior Executive Vice President Somkiat Kimawaha said in a news release that the Center predicted a rising price for unhulled polished round-grained rice with humidity of 15 percent,unhulled Thai hom mali rice, unhulled long-grain glutinous rice, and feed corn with humidity not exceeding 14.5 percent in January 2021, whose price is 8,542-8,865 baht/ton,11,683-11,726 baht/ton, 10,325-10,651 baht/ton, and 7.91-7.99 baht/kg respectively, up 2.20-6.07 percent, 5.38-5.76 percent, 0.03-3.19 percent, and 0.50-1.50 percent from last month.
However, a declining price may be found in New York raw granulated sugar, class-III raw rubber, cassava, oil palm, pork and penaeus vanname, amounting 13.72-14.22 cents/pound, about 9.19-948 baht/kg, 56.85-57.15 baht/kg, 2.00-2.06 baht/kg,6.80-6.95 baht/kg, 68.83-70.00 baht/kg and 140.00-145.00 baht/kg respectively, with a separate fall of 1.50 percent-4.50 percent, 0.10-0.63 percent, 0.48-3.38 percent, 0.57 -2.72 percent, 0.86-2.52 percent and 3.97-7.28 percent from last month.
