"If there is something", she added, "that everybody has learned from the terrible COVID-19 pandemic, is that it is essential to never stop investing in research, because only science can find a remedy to people's suffering. Moreover, today we are experiencing a revolution which deeply disrupts medicine, due to the integration between molecular biology, biotechnologies and digital sector. And Italy is a key hub of this revolution, since it relies on a widespread network on the whole national territory, reliable public and private research institutes, and innovative companies which are the real treasure of our industrial system and accounts for more than 10 percent of GDP."
According to Paolo Glisenti, the Italian Commissioner, "Bracco ensures that the Italian participation to Expo 2021 Dubai will be an effective tool to show the Italian excellences in the healthcare sector: for instance, in a field such as medical imaging, which today represents a great innovation factor in the multidisciplinary model of therapeutic activities, which are becoming strategically important for humankind in a pandemic context."
