On Nov. 24, a local working forum for the first China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) was held in Haikou, officially marking the start of local exhibition preparation for the CICPE.
In October, China approved the CICPE to be held annually in Hainan. The first CICPE will take place at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center from May 7-10, 2021.
The "master plan for the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port", which was released on June 1, proposed a tax exemption policy on import and sales for overseas exhibits at national-level expos during the exhibition period.
Themed "Hainan, a pioneer of opening-up in China", the first CICPE, which boasts a total exhibition area of 100,000 square meters, will focus on consumer products such as fashion, jewelry, food, automobiles, consumer electronics, culture & creation, the outdoors, healthcare, and pet supplies, and will invite world-renowned consumer product brands to participate in the event.
In addition, the world's top luxury industry giants, more than 100 internationally renowned luxury brands, well-known duty-free business giants, and other world-class high-end consumer product enterprises will be invited to the first CICPE. During the exhibition, complimentary events will include professional sub-forums on luxury consumption, tax exemption, modern consumer service, and more, trade matchmaking, product promotion, and brand launch activities.
Not only are overseas exhibits at the exhibition entitled to tax exemptions, but the exhibitors at the CICPE can also enjoy special access to Hainan island-departure duty-free shopping.
