BEIJING, July 24 (Xinhua) -- 54 foreign-funded projects were signed in Shanghai on Wednesday, with a total investment of over 8 billion U.S. dollars, showing foreign companies' enthusiasm for investing in Shanghai, reported Economic Daily Thursday.
A total of 15 projects are related to new infrastructure, including network technology, artificial intelligence, biomedicine and integrated circuits. Each of 10 projects has an investment of more than 100 million U.S. dollars, involving business services, energy and finance and other fields, while 3 projects are contracted with Fortune Global 500 companies.
In the first half of this year, Shanghai received 10.28 billion U.S. dollars of foreign investment, an increase of 5.4 percent over the same period last year. 26 regional headquarters and 10 R&D centers of multinational companies have newly settled down in Shanghai.
