China's Shandong to launch series activities to boost tourism recovery

Abstract : China's Shandong province will launch a series of activities to boost tourism recovery as trans-provincial group tours have already resumed following a period of suspension due to the novel coronavirus epidemic, according to Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism on Sunday.

BEIJING, July 21 (Xinhua) -- China's Shandong province will launch a series of activities to boost tourism recovery as trans-provincial group tours have already resumed following a period of suspension due to the novel coronavirus epidemic, according to Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism on Sunday.

In order to further stimulate the summer cultural and travel consumption in the province and help the tourism and accommodation industries to resume production, the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism will jointly launch theme activities and travel packages including the summer vacation parent-child tour, summer coastal tour, self-driving tour, summer night tour, fitness tour, country tour and other activities together with other cities.

At present, 50,000 cultural and tourism companies in the province have participated in the promotion activities. More than one million products covering attraction ticket, hotel rooms, boutique routes, and special tourist commodities have been included.

During the same period, the culture and tourism bureaus of 16 cities in Shandong province will also cooperate with Ctrip, Meituan and other online platforms to simultaneously launch specials of Shandong tourism information, and jointly launch more than 100 tourism stores in the province.  (Edited by Gao Jingyan with Xinhua Silk Road, gaojingyan@xinhua.org)
