BEIJING, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Sanya, a city of China's island province of Hainan, saw 308 newly registered enterprises in its two key industrial parks in the first half of this year, reported by China News on Tuesday.
Among the 308 enterprises, 164 newly registered enterprises are in Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City, 144 enterprises are in Sanya Central Business District Industrial Park.
Facing the novel coronavirus epidemic, Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City has made full use of its industrial advantages including deep ocean and seed breeding industries to carry out investment promotion. Up to now, 76 municipal and the parks' agreements have been signed and 164 enterprises have registered in the park this year.
In 2020, Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City plans to construct 135 projects with a total investment of 90.8 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 10 billion yuan.
In the Sanya Central Business District Industrial Park, 144 enterprises including Joy City (Sanya) Investment Co., Ltd. and Zhuhai Duty Free Enterprises Group (Hainan) Co., Ltd. have registered in the park, of which nine enterprises are the Fortune Global 500 companies.
Since the beginning of this year, six key projects including the construction of the Joy Global Center, Poly International Plaza, and Taiping Financial Industrial Port in Sanya Industrial Park have been started. It is expected that the park would make the fixed asset investment of 3.2 billion yuan in the first half of 2020, completing 47.1 percent of the annual investment plan.
Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City and Sanya Central Business District Industrial Park are the first batch of key industrial parks unveiled in June in Hainan to promote the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port. (Edited by Gao Jingyan with Xinhua Silk Road, gaojingyan@xinhua.org)
