BEIJING, July 6(Xinhua) -- North China's Hebei province has recently issued an action plan for steel industry digital transformation in 2020-2022, aiming at promoting the transformation and upgrading of its steel industry to achiev high-quality industrial development.
According to the plan, by 2022, Hebei will basically form a new digital development pattern of steel industry backed by big data, digital workshops, full-process intelligent manufacturing, and industry cloud platforms.
In order to achieve the goal, Hebei will establish a modern data resource system. By setting up standards and specifications of data resources in the steel industry, Hebei will further advance the innovative application of big data and artificial intelligence technologies.
Besides, the province will carry out the digital transformation of the production system and vigorously promote 5G construction. By 2022, more than 15 digital workshops and 3 pilot demonstration projects of intelligent manufacturing will be constructed in the province.
Hebei will also accelerate its deployment and commercial use of 5G technology in key steel enterprises so as to promote the upgrading and transformation of existing network infrastructure to high speed and lower power consumption.
